New Pantai Highway
Connectivity
New Pantai Highway is a key urban highway in the Klang Valley, connecting Kuala Lumpur with major areas such as Subang Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Bangsar and the City Centre. Spanning approximately 19.6 kilometres, the highway plays an important role in facilitating daily travel, supporting economic activities, and improving regional connectivity.
The highway also provides improved access to major routes such as the Federal Highway Route 2, offering a reliable alternative to heavily congested urban roads.
To accommodate increasing traffic demand, the Government has approved the New Pantai Highway Extension Project, which is scheduled for completion in 2029. The 15.9-kilometre extension project, including ramps, will enhance traffic distribution, improve connectivity, increase road capacity, and support smarter highway operations with MLFF readiness and smart highway features.
The project is also expected to improve the Level of Service (LOS) at Jalan Bangsar, Pantai Dalam and Jalan Syed Putra, while strengthening connectivity with surrounding expressways including NPE, BESRAYA and the proposed LIKE Expressway.
