All three highways under the IJM Toll Division — the Sungai Besi Highway (BESRAYA), the New Pantai Highway (NPE), and the Kajang–Seremban Highway (LEKAS) — are now equipped with a Smart Highway Monitoring System powered by the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) ecosystem.
This system is fully operational across all Traffic Management Centres (TMCs) within the IJM Toll Division, enabling comprehensive, real-time monitoring and more efficient highway operations. The Smart Highway Monitoring System is equipped with the following features:
Smarter Monitoring, Faster Response
A network of 266 smart cameras equipped with Video Incident Detection System (VIDS) and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) provides continuous, real-time monitoring across key highway routes—enabling faster detection and response to incidents.
Real-Time Information for Safer Journeys
Upgraded Variable Messaging System (VMS) boards deliver timely alerts on traffic conditions, helping motorists make informed decisions and travel more safely.
Intelligent Traffic Management

Video Incident Detection System (VIDS)
The video-based Vehicle Incident Detection System (VIDS) offers lane-level traffic analytics and automatic detection of incidents such as congestion, breakdowns, illegal activities, and environmental hazards—ensuring swift intervention and efficient highway operations.
High-Precision ANPR Technology
Powered by AI and high-performance imaging, the ANPR system accurately captures and analyses vehicle data—including license plates, vehicle type, brand, and colour—even in challenging weather conditions
